DSL leads research funded by UKRI and NERC focused on advancing drone methods to monitor plant biodiversity and ecosystem health. For example, in FLORA-SAGE (Federated Learning Optimised for Remote Assessment of Grassland Ecosystems) we are developing low-power high-performance hyperspectral image analysis algorithms to enable continuous habitat monitoring using drone-in-a-box deployments across multiple UK farm sites.
